About this event

All tickets for this show are general admission, standing on floor level or seated upstairs on a first come, first serve basis. Hailing from Western Sydney, 24-year-old Sri Lankan-Australian artist Ama is carving out a distinct space in the indie-pop landscape with her compelling storytelling and introspective lyricism. A self-proclaimed emotional wreck turned songwriter, she brings raw honesty and a deeply personal touch to her music, drawing inspiration from artists like Alexander 23, Gracie Abrams, and Devon Again. Her single ‘Employee’ marked a major breakthrough - reaching #1 Most Played on Triple J, earning Featured Track of the Day, and receiving heavy rotation across Triple J Unearthed, JOY FM, and Abreak Radio. The track quickly gained traction, hitting 10,000 streams within 24 hours and landing placements on major editorial playlists including Spotify’s Fresh Finds and New Music Friday, as well as Apple Music’s Alt Pop and New Music Daily. In 2025, Ama released her debut EP Julie’s House, which has already surpassed 450,000 streams across platforms and earned her the cover of Spotify’s Hits Different playlist. The project cemented her status as one of Australia’s most promising new voices, showcasing her talent for pairing emotional depth with sharp, melodic storytelling. On stage, Ama has supported artists such as MKTO, Sam Fischer, Will Swinton, and Phi11a, and was selected to showcase at BIGSOUND and SXSW 2025 as part of the Rolling Stone Showcase.
