Austin Santos, known professionally as Arcángel, is one of the most influential and enduring figures in urbano latino music, with a career that has both shaped and evolved alongside Latin music. Born in Harlem, New York, Arcángel was raised in a deeply musical environment. His mother was a member of the Dominican Republic’s first all-female merengue group, an influence that sparked his early connection to music.
