Like-Hearted Hits the Highway and Black Oak Artists proudly present: SF Bay Area favorite Essence and Gold Country and UK/Nashville's incomparable Danni Nicholls. Danni is celebrating the release of her most recent album titled: Making Moves, while Essence and Gold Country are enjoying huge success with their most recent single titled: Good Mom. Essence & Gold Country draw from deep roots in Appalachian, Americana, and classic Country traditions, with songwriting influenced by legends like John Prine, Dolly Parton, and Lucinda Williams. Essence's voice has been compared to Emmylou Harris and Dolly herself. Her songs have appeared in film and TV, and she ha shared stages with Sheryl Crow, The Old Crow Medicine Show, and Tom Petty. Award winning singer-songwriter Essence Goldman has been immersed in art and music since childhood. Her birth name really is ‘Essence’ – she was raised by quintessential flower children. As a sixth generation native of San Francisco, her parents were two free spirited bohemian artists from the Haight-Ashbury ‘Summer of Love.’ Essence’s sound nods to songwriting legends like Tom Petty and Lucinda Williams, Dolly Parton and Gillian Welch.
