This Guelph-based music and art project delves on the exploratory side of Indie Soul, characterized by jazz-influenced melodies, danceable basslines, and Claire's transcendent voice. Their sound is a synthesis of influences like Stevie Wonder, Hiatus Kaiyote, Joni Mitchell, Amy Winehouse, Daft Punk, and Erykah Badu, making for compelling and curious music. CBC’s Laila Biali aptly describes their sound as “Music that exists in a sonic world of its own”. Their debut album ‘Music is the Answer’, explores music’s power as a life-affirming guide, featuring 10 new tracks that reflect their dedication to their art. Its lead single 'Black Walnut' made it in numerous best songs of the week including The Needle Drop's and Somewhere Soul's, as well as charted #5 on Tokyo's J-wave FM HOT 100 for two weeks straight. Performing live as a 5-piece arrangement with Bridget Walsh (violin/trumpet), Emil White (keys/sax), and Emmitt Leacock (drums), the band has been direct support for Kamasi Washington, Thievery Corporation, and Anomalie. They’ve played multiple festivals closing Hillside, Toronto Jazzfest, Mariposa Folkfest, Sunfest and more. To many more this year."
