About this event

Determined to succeed on their own terms, San Diego’s Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald formed Slightly Stoopid in high school, creating a fusion of rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, American folk, metal, and punk. Amidst playing house parties and small clubs, they met Sublime’s Bradley Nowell after attending one of his band’s shows. Nowell quickly became a champion of the group’s precocious talents, signing Slightly Stoopid to his label, Skunk Records. In 1996, they released their debut studio album, Slightly $toopid . Since then, the band released eight more studio albums and four live collections that routinely chart on Billboard’s Top 100. Their touring expanded with sold-out dates internationally and domestically, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, New Orleans Jazz Fest, headlining Red Rocks Amphitheater, among others. The ensemble’s diversity and repertoire encouraged collaborations with artists like Barrington Levy, G. Love (Garrett Dutton), the Marley family, Snoop Dogg, Bob Weir, and Cypress Hill. Slightly Stoopid remains a musical brotherhood that never compromised on their independence , diversity of influence , or their inherited legacy of the Southern California sound .
