Summer Escape at Bowes Library

Take a little detour with Summer Escape at Bowes — our annual snapshot of what’s new at the Art & Architecture Library, presented with a seaside breeze. The promotional image’s soft bands of light and flowing lines inspired how we arranged the show: items grouped to suggest currents and horizons so each visit feels like a short visual voyage. You’ll find newly acquired artist’s books, photobooks, pop-up books, and railroad cars (?) that speak to creative practice, sustainability, and storytelling in the built and natural world. It’s casual, unhurried, and perfect for students, faculty, or anyone who loves to discover new resources and unexpected connections. This is an open invitation to explore, browse, and be inspired by the latest additions to our collection.
