Monthly book discussion on a graphic novel selected by the group! This program is for readers age 16 and up. 2026-2027 titles: September 10 - Ginseng Roots: A Memoir by Craig Thompson (2025) 448 pages. Nonfiction. USA October 8 - The Winter of the Cartoonist by Paco Roca (author) and Andrea Rosenberg (translator) (2020) 128 pages. Historical nonfiction. Spain. Translation November 12 - It's Not What You Thought It Would Be by Lizzy Stewart (2021) 168 pages. Fiction. Coming-of-age story of young women. The author, originally from Scotland, lives in London, England. December 10 - Impossible People: A Completely Average Recovery Story by Julia Wertz (2023) 320 pages. Nonfiction. Julia Wertz lives in Sonoma County January 14 - Love Languages by James Albon (2025) 176 pages. Queer romance graphic novel set in France. Fiction. James Albon is from Scotland. February 11 - Illegal: A Graphic Novel by Eoin Colfer (Author), Andrew Donkin (Author), Giovanni Rigano (Illustrator) (2018) 144 pages. Fiction, based on real events. It explores the current plight of undocumented immigrants. March 11 - More Weight: A Salem Story by Ben Wickey (2025) 532 pages. Historical nonfiction. The book explores the infamous Salem witch trials and the long shadows they cast more than 300 years later. USA April 8 - The Waiting by Keum Suk Gendry-Kim (2021) 247 pages. Fiction, based on real events. Story of a Korean family separated by the war. Translation. May 13 - You and a Bike and a Road by Eleanor Davis (2024) 172 pages. Nonfiction. A two-wheeled journey across the landscape of America, and through the heart and mind of an artist.
